dpa lighting consultants celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008. The Practice started by architect Derek Phillips pioneered the discipline of professional lighting consultancy in the United Kingdom. To celebrate this milestone, Nick Hoggett, who has been with the Practice since 1979 and is a keen photographer as well as leading lighting designer, has collated 50 images. The images portray a collection of natural lighting experiences and cover both the built environment and natural settings. This collection of images demonstrates the magic of natural light and its connection with us. The images and the life experiences that these images represent have been instrumental in inspiring many designers in the Practice. The 50 photographs were exhibited at the following venues. - Louise T Blouin Foundation, London, UK - XVA Gallery, Dubai, UAE - British Embassy, Tokyo, Japan We hope the images inspire others to think about natural light, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of dpa lighting consultants and into the future.
