University of Warwick, Sports Facility |
|
The lighting of external sports facilities has become an issue of great controversy as the light pollution created by so many is extremely detrimental to the environment. Any external lighting will create some pollution but this can be greatly minimised by careful design thus allowing a community to enjoy facilities without unacceptable detriment to their surrounding location. dpa
were commissioned to design a carefully considered solution to the lighting
of an all weather pitches on the University campus. The result limited
spill light beyond the pitch at ground level and by the use of cut-off
lanterns ensured no glare to adjoining properties. The result is an
environmentally sensitive solution that provides a first class facility
for the University. |
