Bahrain Bay Development |
|
dpa lighting consultants have worked together with Skidmore Owings and Merrill Architects (SOM) on a number of different projects within the US$ 2.5 billion Bahrain Bay land reclamation project in Bahrain. The project consists of a central island connected by two bridges to the mainland of Bahrain, which creates a sheltered inner harbour. Our initial work was on a site-wide Masterplan for which we developed lighting strategies for the road systems, pedestrian promenades, canals, the marina and the various commercial developments proposed. We were then appointed for the detailed design of a number of the buildings proposed for the site, all of which are being designed by SOM Architects. These include; The Four Season's hotel a 300 metre tall centrepiece for the development; The Arcapita Bank Headquarters and an associated private Mosque; Salhia Tower, a commercial office tower; Palace Apartments, a mixed-use development with retail podium and apartment towers; The North and South Mosques - two public buildings located adjacent to the Southern Marina and the Central Canal. |
