Radley
College has been a very important client to dpa lighting
consultants over the last 10 years or so. The Practice has worked on
a new Library, the Dining Hall, the Chapel, a new academic building
and the external public spaces. All
the projects had their own criteria to balance but a common goal to
produce high quality space that was practical to maintain.
The
academic building with its inner courtyard is lit primarily with linear
and compact fluorescents, whilst the Chapel and Dining Hall with their
relatively low burning hours use more Tungsten sources. The control
of lighting is as important as the lighting hardware to us and each
project has an appropriately well thought through control arrangement
to facilitate its use.
