The new Etap Hotel room designed by Priestmangoode received the award for best Interior Design for standard branded guestroom in the 2008 European Hotel design awards. dpa were tasked to collaborate with Priestmangoode for the typical guestroom lighting design. This was an interesting and enjoyable challenge also working closely with the teams of the Accor Group.
The new concept Etap Hotel are intended to be
rolled out through out the world. With energy being an important issue
with all hotel design, the Etap Hotel project was given a stringent
brief. As a result, only energy efficient LED and fluorescent lighting
sources were used within the bespoke and integrated lighting elements
within the interior. The elegantly simple design signature of Priestmangoode
can be seen in the design throughout the entire room. |
