Park Hyatt Hotel, Mendoza, Argentina

< Back

The extent of architectural glazing within the lobby area of the hotel required careful consideration when undertaking the lighting design exercise, so as to appropriately balance the light levels between natural and artificial light. It was important to understand the penetration of daylight and shadowing caused by the building form, so that a harmoniuos relationship could be struck with the interior lighting scheme.

The introduction of colour within certain areas was applied in a meaningful way and was appropriately offset against the natural lit conditions of the interior. Concealed lighting elements were used to float ceiling planes and accent lighting was introduced to artwork and structural columns which helped to articulate the interior architecture.
