Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, Japan |
|
This museum consists of two layers of structural wall; the outer wall is made of glass and the inner wall of bare concrete. All of the light fittings are concealed in the soffit between the two walls, which at night illuminates the inner concrete wall and creates a very different appearance to the reflections visible in the glass during the day.
The entrance hall and corridor use concealed indirect lighting techniques,
which creates a comfortable glare free area and gives the inner concrete
wall prominence inside the building.
