were employed by Crystal Cruises International to design the lighting
to the newly refurbished shops on the Crystal Symphony. The brief was
that these shops should be of the same standard of design and presentation
as any comparable high-end showrooms on land. Interior design was by
II by IV Associates of Toronto, Canada.
The “Crystal Collection” cosmetics
outlet focuses around a custom-built circular perfume display. This
display stand is built from translucent materials and glows from within.
Special attention had to be paid to heat management in this display,
to avoid any degradation of the perfumes. Other features of the shop
include extensive integration of under-shelf lighting, using fluorescent
and L.E.D. sources to minimise the heat produced.
