| The
practice is currently working with William Pye on the
Serpent Garden Water Sculptures at The Alnwick Garden,
owned by The Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. The
dynamic interplay of water, stainless steel and light
will result in a stunning collection of contemporary
artwork, which will characterise this part of the gardens
and will be viewed to dramatic effect by both day and
at night.
Lighting
trials are undertaken in order to establish appropriate
levels of illumination, together with colour selection,
offset, integration and concealment. The concept is
to light the perimeter yew hedging that encloses each
sculpture, which will then reflect in the stainless
steel and reinforce a sense of depth and perspective.
The integration of more localised lighting within the
artwork highlights the theatrical movement and direction
of the water.
