undertook the lighting design for the Icon Magazine
stand at the Spectrum 2003 Exhibition in the Commonwealth
Institute, London.
The
exhibition organisers allowed no modifications to the
existing electrical infrastructure. The basic provision
was a single switched lighting track and two switched
13 amp sockets at floor level.
dpa
designed a pre-fabricated plinth detail for the perimeter
of the stand, which accommodated an array of programmable
colour changing low voltage uplights. A colour changing
sequence was pre-programmed by means of an in-line control
unit concealed in the plinth.
Very
narrow beam low voltage pinspots highlighted the centrally
placed sofa, and the “icon” magazine logo
was projected onto the flank walls utilising low voltage
gobo projectors mounted onto the lighting track.
