dpa
has very strong
links with the MSc/Graduate Diploma Light and Lighting
at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, through
the continual use of their research unit where they
have developed a physical modelling tool, the artificial
sky. The artificial sky enables the precise modelling
of daylight and sunlight conditions using physical scale
architectural models, so that natural lighting conditions
can be predicted and designed in the chosen architectural
environment.
dpa
is aware that daylight should be an integral part of
the lighting & building design, being introduced
at the very early conceptual stages of the design where
its use can be maximised. Introducing daylight on a
space not only enhances the beauty and appearance of
a space, but it also benefits human health and vision.
