| The
Emirates Tower Boulevard new entrance stair is a significant
entry point to the extensive retail outlets of the Emirates
Towers.
The
outer envelope radiates light during the day and out
at night. Its structure within glisens in a beautifully
detailed combination of chrome and glass. Where glass
is the predominant material in an architectural environment
such as the stair case, artificial lighting plays a
larger role at dusk and at night. However the careful
integration and understanding of the space with natural
daylight has been carefully considered and seamlessly
achieved.
An
architectural lighting control system has been used
to limit the use of artificial light in the space when
natural light is present. This enables the space to
operate automatically through the day and early evening
when natural light levels change.
