The Astir Palace resort sits
on a wonderful peninsula south of Athens.
The lighting solution respects the tranquil setting and enhances both the architecture and surrounding landscape. An important consideration was to extend the interior views to terraces and the immediate landscape but ensure that lighting did not affect the views over the bay and coastline. Carefully concealed and integrated lighting elements are coordinated within the landscape and architecture to express selective features and provide visually interest, accent and contrast. Energy is an issue that has been considered
here with all lighting set within the control of a central system.
The lighting control system allows a number of scenes to be set
through the evening. This allows certain elements to be turned
off during hours of low occupancy and reduces energy consumption.
