This opulent five star hotel is located within the Grade II listed former Cox and King’s Bank in Pall Mall, London.

dpa lighting consultants were employed to design both the interior public spaces and the external façade as part of the refurbishment project.

For the exterior, English Heritage and the Westminster Planning Department required the lighting equipment specified to be small scale and visually unobtrusive. The colour and quality of the light were equally important considerations during design development. We therefore developed a dramatic but subtle scheme for the façade to reveal the architecture at night and minimise the impact of the lighting equipment during the day. Custom-designed low voltage uplighters were located at close offset to the pilasters and window reveals on the Waterloo Place and Pall Mall elevations to create a memorable nocturnal image for the hotel.
