The Hilton Hotel Luxembourg
has recently been renovated with the interior public areas and guest
rooms receiving a refreshing new interior design. The lighting design
had certain criteria relating to coordination of the existing building
and the footprint the spaces sat within. A limited ability to completely
change the spaces was the first challenge, however, along with the
intelligent and creative input from the interior designers a thoroughly
coordinated design evolved.
Certain elements needed to be retained and lighting and interior design worked closely to improve the overall interior effect and ambience. Lighting to screens and artwork provide focal points within the spaces and accenting of surfaces and features provide contrast and interest as well as a sense of arrival and improved way finding. The interesting artwork and interior finishes are further expressed by the lighting techniques applied in this scheme. Decorative lighting such as table and wall lights add the final touch to create a warm and inviting interior.
