A series of gently curving laminated ebony ceiling rafts enclose the huge open plan lobby and restaurant areas. Translucent etched glass panels in the centre of each raft are internally illuminated with concealed colour sleeved high frequency fluorescent light sources. The lamps slowly cross fade to create gentle washes of strongly saturated coloured light that dramatically change the appearance of the space. Over the course of each day the colour of the etched glass panels shifts from white, through magenta to deep blue and orange as part of a pre-set computer controlled lighting programme.
The front desk, lift shafts and show kitchens are clad in beautiful hand-crafted stacked glass panels which are backlit with intelligent colour changing LED luminaires that dramatically enhance the appearance of the translucent wall surfaces.
