The
striking lit interior within this ambitious casino
project has set a new direction for leisure projects of
this type within Spain. Originally designed as a hospital,
this casino complex which also accommodates a Tapas Bar,
Italian Restaurant, Teppanyaki Restaurant and Bistro, sits
proudly on top of the hill in Aljarafe, Sevilla. The client
requested that the interior architectural lighting should
be vibrant and exciting and therefore a tremendous opportunity
was presented, in which to creatively enhance the interior
spaces within the development.
The
lighting design concept was based around appropriately expressing
vertical surfaces in order to visually break up the various
zones whilst introducing theatrical lit elements, particularly
to the ceiling finishes, in which the use of coloured cold
cathode and fibre optic lighting were exploited. It was
important from the outset to sympathetically integrate within
the fabric of the interior architecture lighting hardware,
so as not to be obtrusive and to provide a visually comfortable
lit environment.
The
overall effect is an inviting and welcoming casino in which,
the clientele have the opportunity to explore the many different
spaces, from the dramatic gaming floor to the atmospheric
dining areas, in which the lighting has contributed significantly
to the success of this project.
