The beautiful mature gardens at Bredon Manor in Gloucestershire are long established and have been cared for over the decades. The addition of illumination had to be very sensitively planned and implemented. For the owners it was immensely important that the gardens retained the restraint of a residence rather than taking on the glitz of a hotel.

The approach was to illuminate the wonderful mature trees and planting with sources discreetly concealed within the landscape thus creating a beautiful night time experience with minimal intervention during the day. The pond provides a wonderful device for reflecting the lit landscape and enhances the enchantment of the gardens. The lighting is controlled by a scene set system thus allowing a variety of lighting scenes, which are selected according to the owner’s mood or activities at the house.
