dpa were employed by Crystal Cruises International to design the lighting to the newly refurbished shops on the Crystal Symphony. The brief was that these shops should be of the same standard of design and presentation as any comparable high-end showrooms on land. Interior design was by II by IV Associates of Toronto, Canada. The lighting approach in the “Apropos”
clothing store involved integrated fluorescent lighting within
displays, combined with carefully aimed frontlighting. Low voltage
tungsten halogen spotlights were used to ensure accurate rendition
of the colours of the product. The luminaires were positioned
with care to avoid causing discomfort glare to customers, and
some time was taken on board to aim them optimally for the displays. |
