The Burren Residence, Dublin,

This residential project was a unique development in the centre of Dublin. The original developer bought the rear garden of a Georgian property in which to build the house and top architect Niall McLoughlin was commissioned to design it. Gary Campbell, London partner at dpa was commissioned to develop the lighting design and worked closely with NMA. Conceptually the house has a ground floor stone clad base on top of which is a glass lantern first floor. In keeping with the contemporary design all lighting had to be concealed or very discreet. The first floor lantern had to have a glowing element to it and there were artworks to light. All lighting is controlled through a scene set dimming system.
