Private Residence,

The Client called for the lighting to compliment the contemporary interior, which was housed within a Victorian styled building.

It was important to highlight the artwork in an appropriate way, whilst respecting the building fabric. Therefore picture lights were introduced as opposed to punctuating the decorative ceiling with downlights. As a means of illuminating the decorative plasterwork to the main living room, dpa incorporated a frosted glass backlit shelf, which became a focal point at the far end of the space.

A combination of table lamps and oversized free-standing reading lamps controlled on an architectural lighting control system provided a human scale lit response to the Clients brief.

The kitchen housed a backlit graphic of the boathouse at the end of the garden and became a feature within this room.
