Bar Finch Mayfair pays homage to the classic Italian bar with influences of the owner’s travel experiences.  At Bar Finch, one can easily imagine themselves at a traditional Venetian café; in the day, drinking a coffee while watching the world go by; in the evening, enjoying an aperitivo at the bar or at one of their tables by the warm glow of candlelight.

The lighting was designed to be localised and at low level to emphasise the intimate nature of this establishment, while highlighting the areas of activity and display.  In the main area on the ground floor, Murano glass chandeliers provide a sense of luxury to the space.  The light from the chandeliers and the softer light from the decorative table lights, fabric shaded wall lights and real candles at the tables all contribute to create a soft ambient setting with dancing shadows on the eclectic artwork that surround this space.  Discreet integrated joinery lighting was used to accentuate the bar and bar display where traditional and inventive cocktails are conjured daily, the Cabinet of Curiosities and deli with their vibrant and colourful display of seasonal produce and merchandise, and the basement Wine display.  As a venue that is open from Breakfast to late into the evening, the use of dimmable lighting and a lighting control system helps transform the way the space is experienced throughout the day.
