Flagship Mini Showroom, Park Lane, London, UK

dpa were commissioned to design the lighting for their flagship showroom for the Mini brand in their highly prominent Park Lane location.

The lighting design emphasizes the fun and quirky interior designed by Stubbs Rich Architects. Strong themes within the showroom echo the world famous and much loved British film “The Italian Job” and hence a slightly retrospective slant and nostalgia play an important role. This all adds up to making the showroom a very welcoming and pleasant environment in which to browse and purchase this highly successful reincarnated design icon.

Personality and individuality are key to the Mini philosophy and the lighting reflects this with bespoke self-illuminated signage contrasting with predominantly pitch black wall surfaces. A double height nightscape of London provides a superb backdrop lit by controlled spotlighting.

This showroom is the world’s first dedicated Mini showroom which provides a unique and very fitting habitat for these much admired cars and merchandise – in short, a vibrant and colourful retail destination in London’s Park Lane.
