Margaret Howell is a highly respected British fashion designer working with many fabrics in informal styles. The brand has a small number of stores, each one unique in its own way, but the common theme is simple clean backdrops to the fashion range with some interesting elements.

The store in Paris is in a courtyard off Place de la Madeleine and was quite a find. It was an old atelier which had stood empty for many years and the most special part of the building was a glass tiled vaulted roof through which infused beautiful natural light enters the store.

The light solution in parts is minimal: suspended track lighting in solid turned aluminium spotlights while in other areas a track and spotlight solution concealed within a ceiling trough detail is used. Display shelving has integrated lighting, as do fitting room mirrors to illuminate the customer head to toe.
