London College of Fashion – Lecture

Johanna Medina, Senior Designer from our London Studio, was recently invited by Dr. Mirsini Trigoni from the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, to deliver a one hour lecture to the students of the MA Fashion Retail Management.

The lecture was about the principles of lighting design, issues lighting designers take into consideration while designing a commercial/retail space, and an explanation to the students on the design process from concept to completion with some examples of our work. Techniques on how lighting can enhance and create an atmosphere within a space, creating a strong and positive experience for the customer but at the same time present the products correctly were discussed. For the case study, Johanna presented some examples of fashion stores that dpa had designed and explained the logic behind the specific lighting solutions.
